The Odisha government recently recruited 16,009 junior teachers in primary and upper primary schools across the state. This recruitment drive aims to improve the quality of education and ensure better learning outcomes.
2. Appointment Letters Distribution
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi handed over appointment letters to some of the newly recruited teachers during a function at Kalinga Stadium in the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
3. Coverage Across All Districts
The appointments were made in all 30 districts of Odisha, ensuring that every region benefits from this large-scale recruitment.
4. Regularization of Services
In addition to the new appointments, the state government also regularized the services of 9,200 junior teachers engaged in primary and upper primary schools under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.
5. Criteria for Regularization
The regularization process was based on the career advancement policy of teachers, where junior teachers who completed six years of continuous and satisfactory service were regularized against the post of Level-V (A) of the elementary teachers cadre.
6. No Untrained Teachers
It is important to note that only trained teachers who have qualified for the Odisha Teachers' Eligibility Test (OTET) were considered for regularization, ensuring that only qualified professionals are part of the teaching staff.

Chief Minister Mohan Majhi emphasized the importance of teaching as a respectful profession that shapes the future of society. He also highlighted his government's commitment to improving education by substantially raising the budgetary allocation for education.
