Bangladeshi Adult Film Actress Riya Barde Arrested in India for Using Fake Documents

Riya Barde, a Bangladeshi national and adult film actress, has been arrested in Thane, Maharashtra, for illegally residing in India using fake documents. The arrest was made by the Hill Line Police in Ulhasnagar, following a tip-off about her involvement in a cheating and forgery case.

Riya Barde, also known as Arohi Barde or Banna Sheikh, was among eight Bangladeshi women arrested in separate cases for staying illegally in India. While seven of the women were apprehended in Navi Mumbai, Riya Barde was arrested from Ambernath City in Thane.

Background and Career

Riya Barde has been active in the adult film industry and has worked on projects produced by Raj Kundra, a well-known figure in the adult entertainment sector. She is also credited for her work in the film Aamras (2023), according to her profile on IMDb.

In addition to her work in adult films, Riya Barde has been linked to other performers in the industry, including Gehana Vasisth. Her career in India, however, has been marred by legal issues, including a previous arrest in Mumbai related to a case under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

Arrest and Investigation

The police investigation into Riya Barde's identity began over a year ago, following a complaint. The investigation revealed that her birth certificate, school leaving certificate, and passport listed three different places of birth: North 24 Parganas and Hooghly in West Bengal, and Achalpur in Maharashtra's Amravati district. This discrepancy led to the conclusion that her documents were fabricated.

Riya Barde allegedly conspired to obtain fake education certificates and passports for herself and her accomplices. The documents were forged with the help of a resident from Amravati, who is currently being sought by the authorities. The police have registered an FIR against her under IPC sections related to cheating, forgery, and common intention, along with the Foreigners Act.

Family and Illegal Residency

Riya Barde was living in India with her family, who had also assumed false identities. Her mother, Ruby Sheikh, changed her name to Anjali Barde and married Arvind Barde from Amravati to facilitate their illegal residency. Her siblings, Riyaz/Ravindra Sheikh and Ritu/Moni Sheikh, are still being traced by the authorities. Currently, Riya's parents are residing in Qatar.

The case highlights the issue of illegal immigration and the use of fake documents by foreign nationals to stay in India. The arrest of Riya Barde and her associates underscores the ongoing efforts by Indian law enforcement to crack down on such illegal activities.
