Bangladeshi Porn Star Riya Barde Arrested for Using Fake Documents in India
Riya Arvinda Barde, a Bangladeshi adult film actress known by multiple aliases including Arohi Barde and Banna Sheikh, has been arrested in Ulhasnagar, Thane district, Maharashtra, for staying illegally in India using fake documents. The arrest was made after a year-long investigation by the Hill Line police station, which revealed inconsistencies in her birthplace listed on various certificates. According to reports, her birth certificate, school leaving certificate, and passport listed three different places of birth: West Bengal's North 24 Parganas, Hooghly, and Achalpur in Maharashtra's Amravati district.
Riya Barde's arrest is part of a broader crackdown on Bangladeshi nationals staying illegally in India. Eight women were arrested in separate cases in Thane district for similar offenses. The police investigation revealed that Riya Barde had fabricated her own documents and allegedly conspired to obtain a fake education certificate and passport for one of her accomplices. As reported, an FIR was registered against her under IPC sections related to cheating, forgery, and common intention, along with the Foreigners Act.
Riya Barde's family has been involved in the illegal stay as well. Her mother, Anjali Barde (also known as Ruby Sheikh), allegedly married Arvind Barde from Amravati to continue residing in India. Currently, Riya's parents are residing in Qatar, while her siblingsbrother Ravindra/Riyaz Sheikh and sister Ritu/Moni Sheikhare still to be found. The Times of India reported that Riya Barde was an adult film actress who worked in projects done by Raj Kundra Productions and also acted alongside performer Gehana Vasisth in several films.
This is not the first time Riya Barde has been in trouble with the law. She was previously arrested by the Mumbai Police in connection with a case related to prostitution under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. Additionally, men's rights activist Deepika Bhardwaj has claimed that Riya Barde was earlier accused of filing a false rape case against her ex-boyfriend and demanding lakhs of rupees as alimony after marrying another person and accusing his family of domestic violence. As reported, this further highlights the complexities and controversies surrounding her personal life.
