Bangladeshi Porn Star Riya Barde Arrested for Using Fake Indian Documents

Riya Barde, a Bangladeshi adult film actress also known as Arohi Barde and Banna Sheikh, has been arrested by the Maharashtra Police for illegally staying in India using fake documents.

The arrest was made following a tip-off received by the Hill Line police station in Ulhasnagar, Thane district. The police investigation revealed that Riya Barde had been living in India with her family on forged documents. Her mother, Anjali Barde (also known as Ruby Sheikh), had allegedly married an Indian man named Arvind Barde from Amravati to facilitate their stay in India.

Background and Family

Riya Barde's family, including her mother, brother (Ravindra or Riyaz Sheikh), and sister (Ritu or Moni Sheikh), had also been living in India illegally. Currently, her parents are reported to be in Qatar, while the police are still searching for her siblings.

Career and Previous Arrests

Riya Barde has been involved in the adult film industry and has worked on projects under the Raj Kundra banner. She is also known for her role in the film Aamras (2023). This is not her first encounter with the law; she was previously arrested in a prostitution case under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act by the Mumbai Police.

The investigation into her identity began over a year ago and revealed inconsistencies in her documents. Her birth certificate, school leaving certificate, and passport listed different places of birth, including North 24 Parganas and Hooghly in West Bengal, and Achalpur in Maharashtra's Amravati district.

Legal Charges and Ongoing Investigation

Riya Barde has been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) related to cheating, forgery, and common intention, along with the Foreigners Act. The police are continuing their search for her family members and other accomplices involved in the forgery and cheating case.

The arrest of Riya Barde is part of a broader crackdown on illegal migrants in India, particularly following recent turmoil in neighboring countries. Other Bangladeshi nationals were also arrested in separate cases for staying illegally in India using fake documents.
