Broncos RB Tyler Badie Carted Off Field with Back Injury

In a concerning incident during the Denver Broncos' game against the New York Jets on Sunday, running back Tyler Badie was carted off the field after suffering a back injury. The incident occurred in the first quarter when Badie caught a pass from quarterback Bo Nix on a third-down play and was immediately tackled by Jets linebacker Quincy Williams.

The tackle resulted in a significant impact to Badie's back, causing him to fumble the ball, which was then recovered by the Jets. Although Badie initially walked off the field on his own, he later collapsed on the sideline and required medical attention.

Medical personnel attended to Badie as he lay on his back on the sideline. After a few minutes of assessment, a backboard was brought out, and Badie was secured to it before being carted off the field for further evaluation.

Injury Details and Game Impact

The Broncos have confirmed that Badie sustained a back injury and his return to the game is listed as questionable. This development has significant implications for the Broncos' running back depth, as rookie running back Blake Watson is inactive for the game, and fellow rookie Audric Estime is on injured reserve. As a result, the Broncos are currently relying on Javonte Williams and Jaleel McLaughlin.

The injury to Badie adds to the Broncos' injury concerns, as wide receiver Marvin Mims also underwent evaluation for a ribs injury after taking an illegal hit on a punt return, though Mims was able to return to the game.

Badie, who was recently added to the Broncos' active roster from the practice squad, has been with the team since 2022. His condition and the extent of his injury are currently under evaluation, with updates expected as more information becomes available.
