Giants' Jalin Hyatt Denies Trade Rumors, Remains Committed to Team

New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt has been at the center of recent trade rumors, but he has vehemently denied any claims that he requested a trade from the team. Despite a slow start to the 2024 season, Hyatt has reaffirmed his commitment to the Giants.

Denial of Trade Request

Hyatt addressed the rumors after a report suggested he had requested a trade over the summer. He stated, 'I didnt say that. I dont know where that came from, but thats false. I love being here.' He expressed his respect for General Manager Joe Schoen and Head Coach Brian Daboll, who traded up to draft him.

Hyatt also dismissed another report that he said if the Giants werent using him, they should trade him. 'Thats false. I love being here,' he emphasized. He feels that the rumors are 'fake stories' and believes someone might be 'out to get' him.

Current Season Performance

This season has been challenging for Hyatt, with him being targeted only once in the first two games and not making any catches. His playing time has also decreased, from 23% of the snaps in Week 1 to 21% in Week 2. Despite this, Hyatt remains positive and focused on improving.

The Giants' offense has struggled, averaging just 170.5 passing yards per game, and the team is currently 0-2. However, Hyatt is confident that his moment will come. 'My time will come. Trust me, it will,' he said. 'And if its not now, it will be soon. So Im not really worried about it right now because I know Im going to take over sooner or later.'

Coach and Team Support

Head Coach Brian Daboll has also denied the trade rumors and expressed his support for Hyatt. Daboll mentioned that Hyatts lack of playing time is not due to any issue with his ability but rather how the plays have unfolded so far. Daboll hinted that Hyatts role could grow as the season progresses.

Hyatts speed is seen as a valuable asset, and there is hope that he will be utilized more effectively in future games. The upcoming matchup against the Cleveland Browns could present an opportunity for Hyatt to make a significant impact.
