Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon Nears Completion with Significant Milestones

The construction of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon, located 15 miles south of Bakersfield near Mettler, California, has reached a significant milestone with the placement of the final steel beam in a 'Topping Off' ceremony. This event marks the completion of the building's structure and symbolizes the strength of teamwork and the foundation for future growth.

Project Overview

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon is a $600-million casino, hotel, and entertainment complex that is expected to bolster Kern Countys growing economy. The project, which began construction on December 14, 2023, will feature a 166,000 square-foot casino, a 400-room hotel, a Hard Rock Live concert venue, Rock Spa, and 13 restaurants and bars.

The casino, set to open in December 2025, will include 2,500 slot machines, 48 table games, and numerous dining and beverage establishments. The hotel and additional amenities, such as the concert venue and spa, will open approximately 20 months later.

Economic Impact and Job Creation

The project is anticipated to create between 3,300 to 5,000 job opportunities, from the start of construction through the opening. It will not only benefit the Tejon Indian Tribe but also contribute significantly to the economic growth of Kern County through increased tourism and local investment.

The construction phase alone is expected to generate around 2,000 construction-specific jobs, with the entire project creating approximately 5,000 direct and indirect jobs once completed.

Community and Tribal Benefits

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon has received federal, state, and local approvals, including a ratified gaming compact between the State of California and the Tejon Indian Tribe. This compact authorizes the operation of Vegas-style slot machines and table games.

The project will provide resources and services for Tejon Indian Tribe members and contribute to the local economy through privately funded infrastructure improvements at no cost to taxpayers.

Amenities and Entertainment

The complex will feature a Hard Rock Live concert venue with 2,800 seats, hosting various events such as concerts, comedy acts, and sporting events. Additionally, it will include a Rock Spa, multiple dining options including a Hard Rock Cafe and an upscale Council Oak Steaks and Seafood restaurant, and a cigar lounge.

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon is set to become a major entertainment destination in the region, enhancing the local landscape with its world-class amenities and attractions.
