Haryana HSSC Police Constable Recruitment 2024: Key Details and Extended Application Deadline

The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has announced a significant recruitment drive for the position of Police Constable in the Haryana Police Department. This recruitment aims to fill a total of 5600 vacancies, providing a substantial opportunity for aspiring candidates to join the police force.

Vacancy Details

The vacancies are distributed across various categories: 4000 posts for Male Constables in General Duty, 600 posts for Female Constables in General Duty, and 1000 posts for Male Constables in the India Reserve Battalions. Additionally, there are specific vacancies allocated for different reserved categories, including Scheduled Caste, Backward Class A and B, Economically Weaker Section, and Ex-Servicemen.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the HSSC Police Constable Recruitment 2024, candidates must have completed their 12th grade or equivalent from a recognized board. They must also have studied Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects during their 10th grade or Matriculation. The age limit for applicants is between 18 and 25 years, with age relaxation applicable for candidates from reserved categories.

Candidates must have passed the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for Group C posts to be eligible for this recruitment. Special preference will be given to candidates with a background from the National Cadet Corps (NCC).

The online application process for the HSSC Police Constable Recruitment 2024 commenced on September 10, 2024. Initially, the last date for online applications was set as September 24, 2024, but it has been extended to October 1, 2024, providing additional time for interested candidates to apply.

Candidates can submit their applications through the official HSSC website at hssc.gov.in. The application process involves registering, filling out the application form, uploading necessary documents, and paying the application fee. There is no application fee for any post.

Selection Process

The selection process includes several stages: Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Screening Test (PST), Knowledge Test, and Document Verification. The Knowledge Test carries a significant weightage of 94.5% and consists of objective-type, multiple-choice questions. The test will be conducted in both English and Hindi, with no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the CET, followed by the PMT and PST, which are qualifying in nature. The final selection list will be prepared after the Knowledge Test and other verification processes.
