Lesley Manville is set to captivate audiences once again as she reprises her role as Susan Ryeland in the highly anticipated series Moonflower Murders, the sequel to the hit show Magpie Murders.
In Moonflower Murders, Susan Ryeland has left her career in publishing and is now living in Crete with her long-time boyfriend, Andreas. However, her peaceful life is disrupted by a murder that occurred at a British country hotel eight years ago. The case is intricately linked to a novel written by Alan Conway, which has led Cecily Treherne, a young woman involved with the hotel, to believe that the wrong man was arrested. With Cecily now missing, Susan must uncover the secrets hidden in the book to find her before it's too late.
Lesley Manville expressed her excitement about returning to the role of Susan Ryeland, describing her as 'smart and feisty.' Manville stated, 'I had an incredible time returning to the role of Susan Ryeland. Anthony Horowitz has written another ingenious adaptation and Im thrilled to be a part of it.'
Moonflower Murders premiered on September 15, 2024, on MASTERPIECE, with subsequent episodes airing every Sunday until October 20. The series consists of six episodes, each delving deeper into the mystery and Susan's investigative journey.
