Martín Pérez Guedes: The Argentine Midfielder Making Waves in Peruvian Football

Martn Prez Guedes, a 32-year-old Argentine professional footballer, has been making significant strides in Peruvian football since his arrival in 2021. Born on August 18, 1991, in Tres Arroyos, Argentina, Prez Guedes has carved out a successful career both domestically and internationally.

Prez Guedes began his professional journey in the youth ranks of Huracn de Tres Arroyos, where he quickly stood out for his talent and dedication. He made his debut in the Torneo Argentino A at just 17 years old, scoring four goals in his first season and cementing his place in the first team.

In 2011, Prez Guedes joined Olimpo of the Argentine Primera Divisin, where he made his first division debut on September 10, 2011, in a 10 loss to Racing Club. During his time at Olimpo, he scored five goals in 21 games and was subsequently signed by Racing Club ahead of the 201213 campaign.

At Racing Club, Prez Guedes played under manager Luis Zubelda and made significant contributions to the team. He scored his first goal for Racing on November 19, 2012, in a 40 victory against Quilmes. Additionally, he participated in the 2012 Copa Sudamericana with the club.

However, due to limited playing time at Racing Club, Prez Guedes was loaned to Olimpo for the 2013 season. During this period, he scored three goals in 26 matches and played crucial roles in several victories, including a 30 win over Boca Juniors and a 31 victory against River Plate.

Prez Guedes returned to Racing Club for the 2014 league season, which the club won, becoming national champions for the first time in 13 years. He was then loaned to Quilmes for the 2015 season and later to Temperley in 2016 before rejoining Olimpo on loan for the second time.

In August 2017, Prez Guedes left Racing Club on loan to Mitre in Primera B Nacional. He made his 100th career appearance in April 2018 against Sarmiento and was later loaned to Defensores de Belgrano, where he maintained an excellent performance level.

In January 2021, Prez Guedes agreed to move to Peruvian football with Universidad de San Martn. Although the club was relegated to Liga 2 at the end of the season, Prez Guedes emerged as one of the leaders of a young squad and was named captain in the final stages of the year.

Prez Guedes' next stop was FBC Melgar in December 2021. During his tenure with Melgar, he played all 54 matches of the season, starting in 45 and scoring 9 goals. Despite his impressive performance, Melgar did not offer him a contract renewal after the season.

On November 15, 2022, Prez Guedes bid farewell to Melgar and its fans via an Instagram post. The same day, Universitario de Deportes announced his signing for the 2023 season. Prez Guedes made his debut for Universitario on matchday 3 of the Torneo Apertura against Academia Cantolao, scoring his team's second goal in a 40 victory.

In the 2023 season, Prez Guedes played a crucial role as Universitario de Deportes won the national championship by defeating Alianza Lima in the final. This marked his first title in Peruvian football and solidified his position as a key player in the league.

Prez Guedes has expressed his desire to play for Universitario de Deportes since his arrival in Peru. His dedication and hard work have earned him recognition both domestically and internationally. As he continues to excel in Peruvian football, fans eagerly anticipate his next moves on the field.
