Melania Trump on Barron's College Life: Living at Home and Navigating NYU

Melania Trump has opened up about her son Barron's decision to attend college in New York City, revealing that he has chosen to live at home while pursuing his higher education. In a recent interview with Fox & Friends, Melania shared that Barron, who began his freshman year at New York University's Stern School of Business earlier this month, will be residing at the family's Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue.

Decision to Live at Home

Melania emphasized that she respects Barron's decision to live at home, stating, 'I could not say I'm an empty nester, I don't feel that way.' She added, 'I raised Barron as [his] own person and give him his own 'yes and nos'. I respect that, it was his decision to come here, that he wants to be [in] New York and study [in] New York and live in his home and I respect that.' This arrangement allows Barron to commute a short distance to the NYU campus in Greenwich Village.

College Life and Public Attention

Barron, who graduated from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida, in May, has been making headlines since his arrival at NYU. Videos on TikTok have shown the 18-year-old, accompanied by Secret Service agents, navigating the campus. Despite the public attention, Melania expressed pride in her son's character, describing him as an 'incredible young man' with 'strength, intelligence, knowledge, and kindness.' She hopes he will have a great college experience, acknowledging that his life is 'very different than any other 18 19 year-old child.'

Family and Personal Growth

Melania also reflected on her role as a mother and the challenges and rewards of motherhood. She mentioned that the experience has brought immense fulfillment and shaped her in profound ways. Barron, who has largely been kept out of the spotlight, has started to take an interest in politics, with his father, Donald Trump, noting that Barron sometimes offers advice on how to attract support from younger voters.

Throughout his life, Barron has split his time between Trump Tower in Manhattan and the family's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. As he embarks on this new chapter, Melania remains supportive and proud of the person he has become.
