MHADA Lottery 2024 Mumbai: Winners of Over 2,000 Affordable Homes to Be Announced Today

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) is set to announce the winners of the MHADA lottery 2024 for over 2,000 affordable homes in Mumbai today. The event, which will be held at Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan in Nariman Point, Mumbai, is expected to attract significant attention as it marks the culmination of a highly competitive process that saw over 1.13 lakh applications.

The lottery process began on August 9, 2024, and concluded on September 19, 2024. During this period, a total of 1.34 lakh applications were received for the 2,030 available flats. However, only 1.13 lakh applicants who made the earnest money deposit (EMD) are eligible for the lottery draw.

The apartments up for grabs range from 29 lakh to 6.82 crore, with most units in the higher income group (HIG) being offered in the range of 1 crore to 6 crore plus. These flats are located in various areas of Mumbai including Goregaon, Malad, Juhu, Dadar, Worli, Tardeo, Wadala, Kannamwar Nagar, and Powai.

The MHADA lottery 2024 aims to provide affordable housing to citizens of Mumbai by creating a housing stock of 50,000 units over the next five years. The authority plans to hold two affordable housing draws annually to meet this goal.

Eligibility for the lottery is based on income criteria: applicants with a family income up to 6 lakh per annum can apply under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category, those with an income between 6 lakh and 9 lakh can apply under the Lower Income Group (LIG) category, those with an income between 9 lakh and 12 lakh can apply under the Middle Income Group (MIG) category, and those with family income above 12 lakh per annum can apply under the Higher Income Group (HIG) category.

A discount of up to 25% is available for 370 redeveloped units offered under the MHADA lottery 2024 Mumbai. The prices for these units vary based on the category and are available on the MHADA website.

The results of the draw will be announced at 11 am today, with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and Home Minister Atul Save in attendance. The results will also be live-streamed on MHADA's official YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Applicants can check their names on the official MHADA website at housing.mhada.gov.in. Winners will also receive an SMS notification and a notification letter will be sent to them after the announcement.

The MHADA lottery 2024 is a significant step towards providing affordable housing solutions to the citizens of Mumbai, addressing the high demand for housing in the city.
