The city of Mysuru is abuzz with the vibrant sounds of music and the grandeur of tradition as the Mysuru Yuva Dasara 2024 has kicked off with a series of electrifying performances. This five-day mega event, which began on October 6, has transformed the city into a vibrant display of culture, heritage, and devotion.
1. Opening Night with Shreya Ghoshal
The event started on a soulful note with the renowned singer Shreya Ghoshal taking the center stage on Day 1. Over one lakh people gathered to witness her performance, which left the audience wanting more. Shreya Ghoshal treated the crowd to renditions of her hit songs like 'Sunn Raha Hai..' from Aashiqui 2 and other popular tracks. She also catered to the local audience by singing Kannada songs such as 'Ondu Male Billu' from Chakravarthy and 'Saaluthillave' from Kotigobba 2.
2. Day 2: Dhvani Bhanushali and Ravi Basrur
On Day 2, Bollywood singer Dhvani Bhanushali and Karnataka's ace music composer Ravi Basrur stole the show. Dhvani opened the event with her popular songs like 'Dilbar' and 'Koka', while Ravi Basrur and his team headlined the main event. The audience danced their hearts out to tracks like 'Toofan' from KGF 2 and 'Ugramm Veeram' from Ugramm.
3. Upcoming Performances
The remaining days of the event promise to be just as exciting. On October 8, rapper Badshah will be the main attraction of the night. The show will open with playback singers Jaskaran Singh and Sangeetha Ravindranath before Badshah takes over from 8 pm onwards. On October 9, Academy Award winner A R Rahman will be the highlight of the night. Following cultural performances by artists from Mysuru, A R Rahman is scheduled to take over the stage from 7 pm onwards. The final day of the mega-event on October 10 will feature Padma Vibhushan Ilaiyaraaja taking center stage. Following cultural performances by Kannada cinema artists and independent musicians, Ilaiyaraaja is scheduled to perform from 7 pm onwards.
Mysuru Yuva Dasara 2024 has taken a melodious start at the expansive 100-acre venue near Uttanahalli on the outskirts of Mysuru. This year, the District Administration and the Yuva Dasara Sub-Committee opted to host the five-day event outside the city to accommodate a larger audience and mitigate traffic congestion.
The event has been a resounding success, with each performance leaving the audience in awe. The combination of renowned musicians and the rich cultural heritage of Mysuru has made this year's Yuva Dasara a truly unforgettable experience for all who have attended.
