PJ Harvey's Latest Album and Halsey's Impressionist Teasers

PJ Harvey, the renowned British singer-songwriter, has recently released her ninth studio album, titled I Inside the Old Year Dying . This album is an offshoot of her verse epic, Orlam , composed in the extinct vernacular of her native Dorsetshire. The album's performance was brought alive onstage at St. Paul's Palace Theatre, where it was infused with Harvey's self-possessed charisma, its story told as much through movement as words and music.

Halsey Channels PJ Harvey for 'The Great Impersonator'

In a unique promotional strategy, American singer-songwriter Halsey has been teasing her upcoming album, The Great Impersonator , by recreating iconic looks of various artists. The latest impersonation is that of PJ Harvey, with Halsey wearing an American flag bikini top and blue eyeshadow reminiscent of Harvey's Blue Girl album cover.

Halsey shared the photo as part of her countdown campaign, teasing track number three, titled 'Dog Years.' She described the song as one of her absolute favorites on the album, inspired by one of the most influential artists of her lifetime. This is day two of Halsey's Great Impersonator countdown, with new songs set to drop on October 25th.

Yesterday, fans got a glimpse of Halsey as Dolly Parton, teasing track number nine, titled 'Hometown.' Each day until her new album is released, Halsey will share more impersonations. The Great Impersonator is Halsey's fifth studio album following 2021's If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power , and features a whopping 18 new songs, including previously-released tracks like 'Lucky,' 'Lonely Is The Muse,' and 'Ego'.

PJ Harvey's latest album has garnered significant attention for its unique composition and performance style. The album's narrative revolves around a nine-year-old girl named Ira-Abel who has supernatural visions and encounters an otherworldly Elvis figure. The live performance of the album at St. Paul's Palace Theatre was a testament to Harvey's artistic discipline and aura, making it a memorable experience for fans.
