PM Kisan 18th Installment: Release Date, Eligibility, and How to Check Beneficiary List

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, launched by the Indian government in December 2018, is set to release its 18th installment on October 5, 2024. This scheme is a key initiative aimed at providing financial support to small and marginal farmers across India.

Release Date and Amount

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to release the 18th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme on October 5, 2024. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive 6,000 annually, divided into three equal installments of 2,000 each, which are transferred directly into their bank accounts.

Eligibility Criteria

The PM-KISAN scheme is designed to support small and marginal farmers who own up to 2 hectares of land. The funds are aimed at helping these farmers meet their agricultural and domestic needs.

How to Check Beneficiary List

Farmers can check if they are eligible or already enrolled in the scheme by following these steps: Visit the official PM-KISAN website, access the beneficiary list page, select the state, district, sub-district, block, and village, and then click on 'Get Report' to see the beneficiary list. The beneficiary list is also displayed at local Panchayats for transparency.

Mandatory e-KYC Process

To continue receiving benefits under the PM-KISAN scheme, completing the electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) process is mandatory for all registered farmers. There are three ways to complete e-KYC: OTP-based e-KYC available on the PM-KISAN portal and mobile app, biometric e-KYC available at Common Service Centres (CSCs) and State Seva Kendras (SSKs), and face authentication-based e-KYC available on the PM KISAN Mobile App.

For OTP-based e-KYC, farmers need to visit the official PM-KISAN website, navigate to the 'Farmers Corner' section, select the e-KYC option, enter their Aadhaar number and registered mobile number, and then enter the One Time Password (OTP) sent to their mobile number. For biometric e-KYC, farmers can visit the nearest CSC or SSK and undergo biometric authentication. Face authentication-based e-KYC can be completed through the PM KISAN Mobile App.

Additional Requirements

Farmers must ensure that their bank accounts are linked with their Aadhaar cards and that the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) option is active in their Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts. They should also check their Aadhaar seeding status under the 'Know Your Status' module on the PM KISAN Portal.

The PM-KISAN scheme is part of a broader initiative to support the agricultural sector in India, similar to other government schemes aimed at rural development and farmer welfare, such as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act.

With the upcoming release of the 18th installment, farmers are advised to ensure all necessary paperwork, including e-KYC, is completed to avoid any disruptions in receiving their payments.
