Superstar Rajinikanth Stable and Expected to be Discharged in Two Days After Hospital Procedure

Tamil film superstar Rajinikanth, who was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on September 30, is stable and expected to be discharged in two days, according to the hospital. The actor underwent a non-surgical procedure to treat a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart, known as the aorta.

The hospital released a statement detailing the procedure, which was performed by Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish. Dr. Satish placed a stent in the aorta to completely seal off the swelling using an endovascular repair method. 'We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went as planned. Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be home in two days,' said Dr. R K Venkataslam, Director, Medical Services, Apollo Hospitals, Chennai.

Hospitalization and Procedure Details

Rajinikanth was initially scheduled for a periodic check-up on an empty stomach on October 1, but he was admitted to the hospital the night before due to his celebrity status. Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian explained that the hospital authorities decided to admit him early for the check-up.

The actor did not suffer from cardiac arrest or severe pain before his hospitalization. The procedure was elective, and Rajinikanth is expected to resume his work in a couple of days, although he will need some rest considering his age.
