In the latest buzz from the world of entertainment, a new reality series titled *The Tribe* has garnered significant attention, particularly for its cast that includes notable figures such as Alaviaa Jaaferi, daughter of actor and comedian Javed Jaffrey, and Alanna Panday, cousin of Bollywood actress Ananya Panday.
*The Tribe*, backed by Karan Johar's Dharmatic Entertainment, follows the lives of five Indian-origin social media influencers living in Los Angeles. The cast includes Alanna Panday, known for her lifestyle content and over 1.5 million followers on Instagram; Alaviaa Jaaferi, who enjoys a significant following for her posts on fashion and beauty; Srushti Porey, a content creator based in LA with a penchant for beach life; Alfia Jafry, the daughter of Indian filmmaker Rumi Jaffery; and Aryaana Gandhi, an Indian-born musician who relocated to LA in 2019.
The series promises an unfiltered look into the personal and professional lives of these influencers as they navigate the challenges of content creation in Los Angeles. The trailer, released recently, offers a glimpse into the chaotic, drama-filled lives of these young content creators. It showcases their friendships, feuds, and self-discovery, set against the backdrop of their luxurious and glamorous lifestyles.
Alanna Panday, tagged as 'The Boss Babe' in the trailer, expresses her aspirations of starting an agency to bring Indian social media influencers to the US. She also reflects on her life, admitting that she has lived in a bubble and is eager to explore more of the world. Alaviaa Jaaferi, on the other hand, shares her desire to carve out a path different from her family's roots in the film industry, finding her niche as a content creator.
Srushti Porey highlights the misconceptions people have about influencers and the hard work that goes into creating digital content. "I'm over the moon that through *The Tribe* we have this opportunity to reveal the behind-the-scenes story and showcase the 'hard work' that goes into creating digital content," she shared.
The show also features Hardik Zaveri, the founder of CollabTribe, who serves as an angel investor and guide for the influencers. *The Tribe* is directed by Omkar Potdar and produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Aneesha Baig as executive producers.
The nine-episode unscripted series is set to stream on Prime Video starting October 4.
