The mock trading session will be held between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, although various market segments will have different timings. Here is a detailed breakdown of the schedule:
- **Morning Block Deal Window**: Open from 9:45 AM to 10:00 AM.
- **Pre-Open Session**: From 10:00 AM to 10:08 AM.
- **Special Pre-Open Session**: From 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM.
- **Normal Market/Odd Lot**: Open from 10:15 AM to 3:30 PM.
- **T+0 Market**: Open from 10:15 AM to 1:30 PM, with trade modification allowed until 1:45 PM.
- **Call Auction Illiquid Session**: From 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
- **Afternoon Block Deal Window**: From 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM.
Purpose of the Mock Session
The primary goal of this mock trading session is to ensure the exchange's systems and infrastructure are robust and ready to handle any emergency situations, such as a security breach or other disruptions. This is the third special live trading session conducted by the NSE this year, following successful sessions on March 2 and May 18.
Live Trading Sessions from Disaster Recovery Site
In addition to the mock session, the NSE will also conduct live trading sessions from its Disaster Recovery (DR) site from September 30 to October 1, 2024. These sessions will follow the normal market timings and are part of the exchange's contingency planning to ensure continuous market operations in case of any unforeseen events.
Important Instructions for Members
Members are advised to actively participate in the mock trading session to test their connectivity and avoid any login issues during the live trading sessions from the DR site. Here are some key points to note:
- **Unique Client Codes (UCCs)**: UCCs added or modified during the mock session will not be valid for the live trading sessions starting September 30. These records will be purged from the UCC system by the end of the day.
- **Connectivity**: No changes are required in the NEAT Adapter settings to connect to the DR site. The settings as of September 27, 2024, will be retained for all sessions.
- **Availability of Services**: The UCC live environment will not be available on September 28, but it will be available from September 29, post 12:00 noon onwards.
Additional Preparations
Members are also informed that the Connect2NSE and Extranet facilities will not be available during certain times on September 28 and October 2. Specifically, these services will be unavailable from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on September 28, and from 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM on October 2.
